Firm History

The law firm now known as Gary L. Voegele, P.A. was formed from a predecessor firm founded by Herbert J. Cook in 1947. As with the firm today, Herbert J. Cook’s office was also located in Faribault.

In 1980, Gary L. Voegele joined the Cook firm as an associate. The firm would later become Cook & Voegele, P.A. Some twelve years later, in 1992, Gary became the sole owner of the practice, changing the name to Gary L. Voegele, P.A. A year later Irene Askelson joined the firm as an Office Manager and Paralegal.

In 1997, the law office was relocated to its present and more convenient location at 102 4th St NW in Faribault. Establishing greater community ties and expanded growth, the firm added Joan Will, an Administrative Assistant, to the team in 2002.

Today, the firm that can trace its roots back over 65 years, operates with two locations, a renowned attorney, and exceptional support staff who are committed to their practice, to their clients, and to their communities.

Association with Virtus Law

Recently, we have become associated with Virtus Law, a dynamic law firm located in Minneapolis, as an "Of Counsel" member. As a result of this association with Virtus Law, we have the ability to draw on the depth and strength of this experienced and excellent law firm. Virtus Law focuses its practices on legal services for privately held business and individuals developing strategies for asset protection, tax planning, business succession, value-based estate planning, and general civil litigation to meet its clients short-term and long-term goals.
